The Gandharan sites — Sirkap, Jaulian, Dharmarajika and the excellent Taxila Museum — sit within a short drive of each other about 35 km from Islamabad, and the whole circuit fits comfortably into a morning. They are spread out enough that walking between them is not practical and taxis are not reliably available on site, so a car that waits for you is the right way to do it. Guides can be arranged at the museum; the site custodians at Jaulian are often better value.
