How it actually works
Self-drive is available and we will be straight with you about it. If you have driven in South Asia before, Islamabad is fine: wide roads, a logical grid, courteous enough traffic. If you have not, the first hour in Rawalpindi will be a shock — lane markings are treated as decoration and right of way is established by nerve. We rent self-drive against a valid licence and a refundable security deposit, and we require an International Driving Permit alongside your national licence if you are not a Pakistani licence holder. We do not release vehicles for self-drive on northern mountain routes, and we will tell you when a chauffeur is genuinely the cheaper option, which in city traffic it often is.

What licence do I need as a foreigner?
Your national licence plus a valid International Driving Permit, or a Pakistani licence. We also take a passport copy and visa page. Without an IDP we can only offer chauffeur-driven hire.
How large is the security deposit?
It depends on the vehicle class and is refundable in full on return. We confirm the exact figure on WhatsApp before you commit — no hidden holds.
Can I take a self-drive car to Murree or Naran?
Murree, by arrangement and not in snow conditions. Naran, Skardu and the Karakoram Highway are chauffeur-driven only — those roads are unforgiving of unfamiliarity and it is not a risk we pass to visitors.
Is insurance included?
Yes, comprehensive cover is included. The excess and what it covers is explained in writing before handover.
